BMW 335i Performance Edition announced

 BMW 335i Performance Edition announced

Announced during the BMWNA Sales Roundtable Broadcast

The BMW 3-Series sedan (E90) life cycle is coming to an end (October 2011) and BMW is already ramping up the special editions to keep sales flowing until the next generation F30 arrives. Already we've seen a slew of M3 special editons, and most recently the 3-Series M Sport and Edition Exclusive models, but the latest is the 335i Performance Edition.
Announced during the BMWNA Sales Roundtable Broadcast, the 335i Performance Edition will receive a Stage 1 power kit (same as 335is) giving an increase of 20 hp and 32 lb-ft of torque to 326 PS (240 kW; 322 bhp) resulting in a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the standard 335i. Other features include black kidney grilles and Performance Edition badging.
But there's no need to special order the Performance Edition. In a move that will surely please dealers, the Performance Edition package can be retrofitted to any 335i sedan. The only pre-requisite is that it must be equipped with Sport/M-Sport package.
Pricing for the Performance Edition is a great value at $550. Availability includes August production 335i sedans.
