Ice speed record holder runs the course
The same duo that set the world ice-speed record took to the track at Goodwood and managed to impress audiences. Juha Kankunnen, a four-time rally champion, piloted his black and yellow Bentley Continental SuperSports Convertible up the hill and in front of the iconic grandstand.
“Driving this very special Bentley Continental in front of the packed Goodwood grandstands was a special experience for me,” Kankunnen said in a press release from the English automaker.
With help from a 12-cylinder 6.0-liter engine, Kankunnen got the car to an average 205.48 mph (330.695 km/h) on the ice in Finland, a result that was given an official stamp from the Guiness Book of World Records.
